USS UVALDE AKA-88
60's

     The Uvalde was stationed on the east cost from the time she came out of "Mothballs'" on 18 November 1961. She saw no action during Vietnam..   However she did take part in the "Cuban blockade" and while I served on her from 1966 to her decommissioning on 29 November 1968.   The Uvalde was assigned to the 6th Fleet Amphibious  Squadron in the Mediterranean Sea  and to the Caribbean Sea.
